Penobscot Bay Cruise
Our Penobscot Bay cruise area, amid the hundreds of islands of Midcoast Maine, is one of the most scenic and spectacular cruise in the world.
The Penobscot and Blue Hill Bay areas are rich with this kind of cruise, offering an unending variety of scenery and protected waters for comfortable sailing.
Often we slide through the narrow passages of Penobscot Bay or weave through clusters of granite-based islands.
We have no set itinerary; the wind and tide determine our course and destination.
Often our only company might be seals sunning on ledges, or porpoises surfacing to breathe.
We might also head a bit offshore where, to the south, only scattered islands dot the open ocean, while to the north and west rise the mountains of Camden or Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island.
Accommodations consist of nine double and two triple cabins. Each cabin has a sink with cold running water, a reading light over each berth,
and is completely fitted with fresh sheets, warm blankets, pillows, and towels.
You will also be happy to know we have a hot freshwater shower on board for those not wanting to rough it too much.
The meals are the domain of Captain Anne Mahle. She is a cookbook author, recently seen cooking on the Today Show, and also has a weekly cooking column in Maine's largest daily newspaper.
Each charter sails between Boothbay and Bar Harbor stopping every night to set anchor in what could be an island fishing village such as Isle au Haut or Burnt Coat Harbor or a quaint town like Stonington or Camden where you can enjoy a little shopping.
Sometimes we drop anchor in a quiet cove where only the flicker of a cottage light hints at civilization.
Come enjoy the magic of the sea with us.
