By Air: You can fly into Boston, MA (BOS); Portland, ME (PWM); Bangor, ME (BGR); or Manchester, NH (MHT) and either rent a car or take a shuttle plane from there to the Rockland, ME airport.  Driving time is approximately 4 hours from Boston, 1 ½ - 2 hours from Portland or Bangor; and 3 ½ hours from Manchester. From any of these airports Schooner Bay Taxi/Shuttle service will pick you up and drive you to the schooner. We recommend making these reservations when you book your flights.

From Boston: US Air (Colgan Air 800-428-4322) or Cape Air (800-352-0714) both fly into the Rockland Airport (RKD) from Boston. Then it is only a five-minute taxi ride to the boat, call Schooner Bay Taxi to pick you up at the airport at 800-539-5001 before you arrive.

From Portland: We recommend Schooner Bay Taxi as a shuttle from the Boston, Manchester or Portland airport to us. You can make your reservation with them at 1-877-594-5001. Another option is Mid Coast Limo (800-937-2424) to meet you and drive you directly to the boat.

 Driving Directions:

Note:  If you use GPS, Google Maps or another map service to print a map or driving directions to us, do not use the 136 Holmes St. address, this address is to the office not the boat – it will lead you away from the water and straight to our garden...where we may put you to work weeding!  Instead use 50 Tillson Ave as the destination point and you are sure to have an enjoyable sail! Click here for a map once you get into Rockland to use with the directions below. Parking is $20 per vehicle for the length of your trip.

From the South: Avoid the city of Boston altogether by taking 495N to 95N.  From there you have two options: scenic or less traffic.  If you are traveling during mid summer on a weekend take the “less traffic” route unless you have time to meander.

Note: If you want to drive we are approximately 7.25 hrs from NYC; 3.5 hrs from Boston; 3.25 hrs from Manchester, NH and 1.75 hrs from Portland, ME.

Scenic:   Follow I-95N until you can merge onto I-295N via exit #44 (S. Portland/Downtown Portland).  Continue on 295N to the Brunswick/Coastal Route 1 exit #28.  From Brunswick, travel on Route 1 to Rockland (approx 53 miles).  Once in Rockland go to your third light and turn left onto Main Street and pull into the right hand lane. At the stop light turn right onto Tillson Ave. You will then take a left onto the drive just before Gemini Marine Canvas. Our new dock facility, Windjammer Wharf, is located just off Tillson Ave- there is no street name. Just pull down the long drive and someone will be there to take your luggage and direct you to offsite parking.

Less traffic: Take 95N all the way to Augusta exit 109 and then take Route 17 East to Rockland.  Follow Route 17 into Rockland (approx 45 miles), it will join with Route 1A.  Turn right on Route 1A, or Broadway, and follow to the third light.  At the third light turn left onto Route 1 North- follow through 2 more lights and turn left onto Main Street and pull into the right hand lane.
